Associate Director or People Planning Systems & Resourcing

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Associate Director of People Planning, Systems and Resourcing within a South West NHS Trust, to provide leadership for the Trust’s Workforce and HR management.

The Interim Associate Director of People Planning, Systems and Resourcing role will be offered on a 4 month interim contract.

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • To lead the provision of high-quality services within the Chief People Officer portfolio, supporting senior managers, clinicians and staff across the organisation to be safe and legal, to provide excellent care to patients and to realise the Trust’s People Plan;

  • Leading effective transformation of the HR service models, taking lead responsibility in providing a comprehensive workforce planning, systems and intelligence function for the Trust;

  • Designing, developing, implementing and commissioning (where appropriate) a range of strategic workforce planning interventions to support the delivery of the Trust’s Transformation programme, aligned to the annual planning process, the NHS Long Term People Plan and NHS Workforce Plan;

  • To hold lead responsibility for and manage all workforce information systems, ensuring that a suite of regular, timely and relevant workforce information is provided to

  • all levels of the organisation, working closely with the Business Intelligence Team;

  • Provide the people directorate and wider management teams with the required range and depth of workforce analytics on which sound business decisions can be made, which will inform national annual and monthly workforce;

  • Supporting the delivery of the Trust’s strategic goals and People Strategy, using your skills, expertise and experience to take a long-term strategic view of the Trust’s requirements on all recruitment, resourcing temporary staffing and Corporate initiatives, and how these can be achieved.

Essential skills and experience:

  • CIPD qualified;

  • Significant experience in a HR role at a senior level within the NHS;

  • Experience of providing HR, systems and Temporary Staffing and Resourcing advice at a senior level;

  • Experience of influencing decisions up to Executive level, writing papers for senior committee meetings;

  • Proven experience of promoting partnership and collaborative working with members of different professions and organisations.
