We are working with a North West based NHS Trust who are seeking an Interim Clinical Coder with a Clinical Engineering background.
Key responsibilities will include:
The role involves reading and analysing medical and surgical terminology documented in patient records and translating this into alphanumeric codes. These codes are then input onto the hospital's Patient Administration System.
Clinical Coders are expected to learn and remember clinical coding rules and conventions, local policy and National Clinical Coding Standards and work to strict deadlines. They must be accurate and precise in their work and have good time management skills.
The successful candidate must be conscientious, have an eye for detail and a willingness to learn.
The ideal candidate will have:
Understanding of the clinical coding process
Experience of working in a Hospital / Clinical setting
Knowledge of the uses of clinical coding data
