Patient Safety Project Manager

Job Description

We are delighted to be working alongside an NHS organisation to appoint a Patient Safety Project Manager. This role will be for an interim period of 6-months with 3 days a minimum on-site in Central London and 2 days remotely. The hourly rate is £32.45 - £39.99, working inside IR35 (Through an umbrella solution company).

The post holder will contribute to the development of the culture, systems, and processes to support safety surveillance work across the organisation, assuring the leadership and external stakeholders, that the services delivered by the organisation are high quality, person-centred, and safe.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the successful implementation of the NHS England Patient Safety Incident Response Framework;
  • Support the safety, Quality and Directorate teams to ensure delivery of safety and quality priorities throughout the organisation;
  • Leading on delivering the Patient Safety Priorities across the organisation, as a champion for this cultural change, to bring in a new approach;
  • Ensure that the organisation learns from themes arising in patient safety events and incidents using innovative approaches and methodologies;
  • Responsible for all to support compliance with organisation policies and procedures, and support others to do the same;
  • Support the implementation and delivery of the implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework;
  • Deal with complex, sensitive and confidential matters and data and ensure that all data is recorded and stored safely and appropriately in line with GDPR, Data Protection, FOI requirements, Policies, and procedures;
  • Share data and benchmarking regionally, nationally, and internationally to advance safety in paediatric specialised services.
  • The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience within the NHS at management level;
  • Postgraduate qualification/Masters or equivalent experience in patient safety, risk, governance, or compliance;
  • Experience using datix or a similar incident reporting platform;
  • Ensure all communications, both verbal and written, are clear and concise.
