Clinical Governance Manager

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen, supporting a large Healthcare organisation as a Clinical Governance Manager.

The post will be working in the Southwest, Devon area on an interim basis for 6 months to then become permanent. The post will require on-site working with some potential remote in place at a competitive salary.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development, coordinating the implementation, and monitoring of plans, policies, and risk management in relation to the quality, clinical governance, and patient experience agenda.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure an integrated approach to patient safety and embedding a risk management culture;
  • Supporting teams with improvement initiatives to ensure consistent high standards in response to risks arising from incidents, complaints, audits, and other governance activities;
  • Condensing complex information into learning outcomes for a variety of audiences to facilitate change;
  • Support teams in the identification of incidents and risks from operational activities and ensure these are reported on internal systems;
  • Review guidance and assess applicability to services, working with clinical leads to implement actions plans to achieve compliance.
  • A successful candidate will have:

  • Governance experience is essential preferably within the NHS/ a healthcare setting;
  • Extensive expertise within Risk Management and Quality;
  • Ability to execute judgements around conflicting views and make decisions on complex issues;
  • Innovative thinking to initiate and support change, to take actions and meet desired outcomes;
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to use persuasive and strong influencing skills;
  • Ability to assess, analyse and recommend solutions to problems.
