Finegreen are supporting an NHS organisation in London to appoint a Fire Safety Officer.
The post will be for an initial 3 month interim period, with an hourly rate of £33.26, inside IR35 through an Umbrella Solution.
The post holder will provide fire safety advice to the organisation, as well as Fire Safety Training, whole site risk assessment, departmental risk assessments and audits.
Key responsibilities will include:
Prepare, conduct and evaluate fire risk audits and surveys across the organisation in order to inform management of the risk profile;
Where risk situation are identified to consult and work in conjunction with manager with a view to
reducing areas of risk;
Visit assess all locations external to the main hospital site where organisation activity may be carried out and undertake occasional out of hours work in order to provide comprehensive appraisal and risk assessment of all environments;
Assist managers in delivering the fire risk assessment / risk control process required by fire legislation and the fire code through provision of professional advice;
Provide fire training (including use of extinguisher) to all staff groups varying the methods and approaches as appropriate to the audience;
Monitor and evaluate training in relation to changes in staff knowledge, skills, behaviour, and outcomes;
Undertake audits on the efficient and safe operation of all firefighting equipment, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems (list not exclusive) in association with the relevant Estates Officer.
The ideal candidate will have:
Specialist Fire Safety Courses e.g. Fire Service College or NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management and or relevant Fire Service experience;
Qualification in Risk Assessment and/or Health and Safety Regulations;
Qualified/experienced Training instructor;
Ability to deliver Safety Training to multi-disciplinary teams.
