Estates Building Manager

Job Description

Finegreen are currently working with an NHS organisation to recruit an Estates Building Manager to work on an interim basis for 3 months. The post will require on site working with an hourly rate of £33.26, working inside IR35 (through an umbrella solution company).

The post holder will be the building specialist within a small group of managerial / technical staff who manage and operate complex technical systems and processes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with standards, procedures and legislation and providing specialist advice to the Deputy of Head Estates and Head of Estates and Capital Projects;

  • Responsible for the indirect management and supervision of in-house, agency and contract staff;

  • Manage the supervision of contractors undertaking maintenance, repairs and minor alterations and additions;

  • Responsible for the development and provision of specific areas of the annual business plans for all estate management arrangements, operations and service provision;

  • Carry out the preparation of an annual plan of irregular maintenance needs based on the building service surveys and submit proposals on Estates matters for inclusion in the operational and forward planning programme;

  • Maintain records of maintenance and testing of works services and equipment and such records as are required under the Health and Safety at Work Act and other statutory Legislations;

  • Responsibility to ensure compliance with legislation, regulation and relevant guidance including Health and Safety matters to minimise risk to patients, staff and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Must have experience working within the NHS/a healthcare setting;

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related subject, or significant experience;

  • Management experience in an Engineering, FM or Building environment;

  • Experience of managing Engineering or Building Services projects;

  • Good planning and communication skills and ability to work under on initiative.
