Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities

Job Description

We are currently supporting a large NHS organisation in the recruitment of a Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities to work in the East Midlands. This is an interim position for 3 – 6 months initially which will require full time on site working.

The position will have a competitive rate and lead on all Hard FM services.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • The post holder will be accountable for the delivery of the estate’s services, and will have oversight of the Capital Development Team;

  • Capable of executive decision making and taking responsibility for acting on those decisions and implementing the requirements, being individually accountable for outcomes;

  • Responsible and accountable for the standard, delivery, continual monitoring, risk management and review of engineering services to ensure a professional, high quality, cost effective and efficient service to meet the demands of the organisation, its staff and patients;

  • Contribute to the overall monitoring and evaluating of the integrated Capital, Estates & Facilities Management Division, its performance, and develop systems to ensure acceptable standards are set and met;

  • Build and develop partnerships with clinical and non- clinical colleagues and external agencies to ensure all estates/capital planning strategies;

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and mandatory requirements and performance;

  • Ensure communication strategies are developed and implemented for Maintenance services which may impact on operational of strategic activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Must have senior experience working within the NHS/ a healthcare setting;

  • Degree in Building Service Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering;

  • Significant experience operating at associate Director level;

  • Significant experience of managing building project teams, developing design briefs, service

  • Expertise in PFI;

  • Proven contract and project management experience;

  • Ability to work under pressure and constantly achieve within tight timescales.
