Getting CQC ready and Supporting Ramsay Health Care in advance of inspection.

The Requirements


Ramsay Health Care UK (Ramsay) are one of the leading providers of independent hospital services in England, providing a wide and comprehensive range of specialised and efficient clinical specialties. With an important CQC inspection imminent, the organisation needed to appoint an experienced interim consultant into their Oaklands Hospital. This individual would need to conduct an initial assessment of the hospital to ensure it was ready for the pending visit. They would also need to oversee the inspection and support the hospital in addressing any recommendations or instructions resulting from the review. Ramsay engaged Finegreen because of our extensive experience and networks within the field of clinical governance and quality. As the client was busy managing day-to-day operational activity within the hospital and preparing for the inspection, they required a partner who could offer a complete, end-to-end solution.


The Solution


Finegreen’s Interim Clinical Governance Team were responsible for leading on the delivery of this assignment. They responded quickly to take the workload of recruitment away from the client. This involved developing a detailed brief to support the process. Once the job description and person specification were in place, the team commenced with delivery, providing regular progress updates to the client throughout the process. The result was over 20 potentially suitable applications. These then needed to be quickly qualified and assessed through a series of screening interviews. At the end of these, Finegreen identified three candidates who best met the remit and requirements of the assignment. These candidates were fully briefed by Finegreen in preparation for their interviews. Finegreen managed all of the arrangements around the interviews and interfaced between client and candidate to ensure a smooth process.


The Outcome


Following the interviews Ramsay were able to successfully appoint their candidate of choice. Finegreen continued to provide support ensuring referencing and other compliance requirements were conducted swiftly and did not cause delays in the process. Those candidates who were unsuccessful received full and comprehensive feedback from the Finegreen team. From the initial client mandate our expert team were able to identity an ideal candidate in less than two weeks. As a result of our process Ramsay were presented with more time than they had expected to prepare adequately for the inspection. The feedback we received was that Ramsay valued not only the quality of candidates presented, but also the speed of response and professionalism we provided in meeting their needs. Since completing the assignment Ramsay have continued to use Finegreen as a trusted partner to manage their short-term capacity needs.
