This is your chance to play a leading role in a forward-thinking Critical Care team at the heart of a busy and diverse hospital, where high-quality patient care and innovation are central to the Trust’s mission.

About the Role

You will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing consultant-led care across the adult critical care service. The unit manages a broad case mix including medical, surgical, trauma, and emergency care patients. You will contribute to service development, education, and the delivery of safe, evidence-based care across the intensive care pathway.

The Trust values clinical leadership and offers opportunities to contribute to quality improvement, teaching, and research initiatives in collaboration with regional partners.

Key Requirements

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practise

  • Entry on the Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine (or within 6 months of CCT at interview)

  • Fellowship of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FFICM) or equivalent

  • NHS or UK hospital experience is essential

  • Strong teamworking skills and a commitment to multidisciplinary care

Applications are also welcomed from dual-trained consultants in ICM and Acute Medicine, Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine or Respiratory Medicine.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary in line with NHS consultant pay scale

  • Full NHS benefits package, including generous annual leave and pension

  • Opportunities for leadership, research, and medical education

  • Supportive team and access to CPD and development pathways

  • Relocation support for eligible candidates

About the Trust

This forward-looking NHS Trust provides acute care to a large and varied population in the East Midlands. The critical care service has seen significant investment in infrastructure, staffing and innovation, and is a key focus area for Trust-wide development. With a strong commitment to clinical excellence and a collaborative culture, this is an ideal environment for a motivated and visionary consultant to thrive.
