Senior Capital Projects Manager

Job Description

Finegreen are currently working with a large NHS organisation to recruit a Senior Capital Project Manager on a contracting basis for 6 months initially. The hourly rate will be £46.47, working inside IR35 (Through an Umbrella Solution company.).

The post holder will report into the Head of Projects, involved within the management of specific Capital Projects from inception to completion to cost and time.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To manage the day to day of the projects, (including contractors and whole project budgets, the delivery of the project deliverables within agreed constraints;

  • Planning, monitoring, and controlling all aspects of a project to ensure that the most cost effective, timely and appropriate solutions are developed to fulfil the organisation’s strategic goals;

  • Producing project documentation including financial and progress reporting, specific project documentation, highlight and checkpoint progress reports, quality assurance reports, and risk/issue management logs related to their schemes;

  • Deliver specified project schemes from inception to technical and clinical commissioning and completion;

  • Design projects in liaison with end users and consultants, setting scopes of work for design consultants, commissioning their services and ensuring they deliver to those specifications;

  • Ensure all PFI projects are fully wrapped into PFI variations and that those variations provide value for money from a capital, revenue and life- cycle perspective;

  • Identify any and all risks and issues in relation to projects and ensure these are managed effectively;

  • Communicate complex issues to senior management, stating potential options with clearly defined recommendations for future direction of the project.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Must have experience working within the NHS/a healthcare setting;

  • Senior level experience of projects work implementation from both in-house design and project management of consultant design teams;

  • Experience in conversion, refurbishment and new build schemes;

  • Managing large Capital projects to successful conclusion to cost and time;

  • Strong track record of managing contractors to deliver to contract;

  • An understanding of structured delivery methodologies and demonstrate the ability to use these in the successful delivery of projects;

  • Good all round technical knowledge of construction and engineering;

  • Understanding of capital procurement programmes and methodology.
