Security & Car Parking Manager - NHS

Finegreen are working with an NHS organisation in the East Midlands who are looking to appoint a Security & Car Parking Manager within the Estates and Facilities department. This is an interim role for 3 – 6 months with an hourly rate of £34.65 inside IR35 (Through an Umbrella Solution).

The post holder will be responsible for the leadership and effective management of the site security & CCTV operation, Access Control Office operations, and the Security agenda across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

Lead services across the Car Parking and Traffic Management, conducting regular audits to monitor standards and performance of the service through robust quality assurance systems and processes;

Develop, maintain, and effectively manage the implementation and awareness of policies, standards and controls for security across the organisation in line with nationally agreed standards and best practice;

Able to conduct risk assessments;

Respond and support at a strategic level (i.e. Silver command) all emergencies relating to Security within the organisation, liaising with the relevant organisation staff and the emergency services, to take follow-up action as necessary and to ensure that Security staff are instructed and trained to in their corresponding duties;

Work as the Security Team’s lead with communicating to other departments and with the Police, Fire & Rescue Service and other emergency services;

Coordinate and review and update the directly-related Security Service and Car Parking & Traffic Management policies and submit for approval;

Must ensure that a full set of detailed Assignment Instructions are produced, submitted for approval, subsequently implemented and maintained for all security activities undertaken in pursuance with compliance to organisation policies and procedures;

Play a pivotal role in the development of the organisation’s Security Strategy;

Promote a safe environment and reduce the fear of crime by providing a high profile visible presence;

Take responsibility for addressing security issues as and when they arrive. Where appropriate direct or conduct investigations for security incidents / breaches in a fair, objective and professional manner so that the appropriate sanctions are taken and consideration of preventive action takes place;

Be actively involved with the Emergency Planning Team, and contribute and participate in all emergency exercises;

Responsible for budgetary management in line with the agreed scheme of delegation;

Act as the authorised signatory and be responsible for the purchasing and maintenance agreements of organisation security equipment and infrastructure;

Deliver the quality standards and targets outlined in the organisation’s Risk Management Strategy and local operational policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have:

Must have experience working within the NHS/ a healthcare setting;

Advanced Diploma in Security Management (Masters Level qualification) or equivalent level of experience acquired over a substantial period of time in a large complex organisation;

Security SIA license;

Previous experience of working on security/car park duties in a complex and varied organisation;

Patrol the site internally and externally, responding to emergency calls;

Assessment and management of risk;

Traffic, car park and parking enforcement management experience;

Ability to communicate with staff, visitors and patients under challenging circumstances;

General knowledge and training in Health & Safety;

Knowledge of relevant laws /organisational procedures.
