A new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an IT Infrastructure Officer.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading on the technical management and support of the organisation’s IT Infrastructure, including the capacity, availability and incident management;
Management and development of day-to-day 2nd/3rd line capability of the IT Infrastructure for faults, performance, stability, proactively fixing problems, ensuring security and backup procedures are in place and maintained;
Leading on IT Infrastructure projects;
Documenting and developing an in-depth knowledge of existing IT architecture/infrastructure and technology portfolio, developing operational monitoring as required including common, integrated road maps for infrastructure operations;
Developing and executing test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Reporting on findings and making recommendations for improvement;
Identifying key risks and managing accordingly, to ensure continuity of services;
Supporting the on-going development, documentation, testing and delivery of the IT disaster recovery plan.
The ideal candidate will have:
Relevant IT qualification, and qualified or working towards Microsoft qualifications;
Significant experience of working in a high-pressure enterprise scale IT Infrastructure environment managing in excess of 150 servers;
Highly developed specialist knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies;
Strong hands-on/technical knowledge of core data network and voice technologies;
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory;
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Technologies, Virtualisation Technologies (Hyper-V / VMware) and desktop virtualization, current MS Desktop operating systems and applications e.g. Windows 10;
The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload according to the demands of conflicting and unpredictable requests.
