Interim Service Manager – Medicine

Job Description

We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Service Manager for Medicine. This role will be for 6 months+ and is expected to be based mainly onsite.

This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated at c£260 per day.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for all day-to-day operational and general management for Medicine Services;

  • Lead and demonstrate the ability to deliver against key performance targets;

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining performance management systems to ensure the effective and efficient use of all resources in order to achieve the organisation’s objectives;

  • Ensure that the Strategic Plan and objectives, operational policies and strategic intentions are implemented or incorporated;

  • Potential for participation in the managerial operational (Bronze) on call rota;

  • Ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high quality clinical services within available resources, ensuring the delivery of the Annual Quality Framework;

  • Contribute to the management of safety and quality performance and the development and delivery of designated clinical service portfolios.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Educated to degree level;

  • Managerial experience at Band 8a level as a minimum;

  • Credible and proven track record of managing operational services within an Acute setting and across Medicine Services;

  • Strong administrative skills.
