Interim Senior Transformation Project Manager

Job Description

We are supporting an NHS Provider organisation on their interim appointment for a Senior Transformation Project Manager. The role will be based in the East of England and the assignment will be on an interim basis for 5 months approximately.

This assignment is critical in the delivery of the organisation’s transformation programme and experience within an NHS organisation within project management and/or transformation at this level is essential.

This role will be under the Workforce Alliance Framework and expected remuneration will be c£260 per day.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Direct line management of project managers and/or project coordinators and project support roles;

  • Ensure all elements of the programme/project are effectively managed;

  • Contribute and, where required, lead on the development of business cases;

  • Prepare regular performance/highlight reports for relevant governance forums including steering groups, Executive Teams and Board;

  • Resolve any issues, disagreements, or disputes between parties to ensure programme/projects remain on course to achieve successful completion;

  • Actively influence, motivate, develop and support key stakeholders;

  • Provide detailed statistics and analysis on the programme progress, issues, and problems on a regular basis to the programme owner;

  • Lead the development of the vision and outcomes of each project, ensuring there are both qualitative and quantitative outcomes/outputs that are measurable.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience;

  • Project Management qualification e.g., PRINCE2 foundation or practitioner or equivalent skills demonstrated through experience;

  • Significant experience of leading complex projects within and NHS or public sector environment.

  • Extensive project management experience including Project planning, reporting and risk management. Financial management and delivering change projects within agreed timescales;

  • Experience of working at a senior level in a large organisation in a political environment engaging effectively with stakeholders.
