Interim Hospital Director

Job Description

We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Hospital Director. This role will be for 6 months and is based on site.

This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated at a VSM level, dependant on experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiating with external agencies to secure additional income for the delivery of performance targets and to agree supporting Service Level Agreements and infrastructure;

  • Ensure effective arrangements are in place to communicate on both operational and strategic issues with managers and clinicians across the Division and the Trust;

  • Develop alignment with the clinical staff involving an understanding and appreciation of the Divisional targets and Trust business objectives;

  • Ensure the delivery of a robust planning cycle to agreed activity levels, capacity, systems and processes required to achieve the specialties and local services standards;

  • Ensure that the Trust sets improvement goals which incorporate local, national and international benchmarks as appropriate and review progress against these.

  • Communicate the Trust vision, values and strategic aims and objectives both inside and outside the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience which includes working at Director Management level within the NHS within the last year at Band 8d or above;

  • Broad experience of leading large teams of professional staff within a performance management culture;

  • Experience within delivery and improvement of clinical services within an acute hospital setting.
