We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim General Manager – Surgery. This role will be for 6 months initially, though could extend and is expected to be based onsite.
This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated at c£375 per day.
Key responsibilities will include:
Responsibility for supporting surgical services, working closely with both the Theatre and Anaesthetics teams to deliver elective recovery;
To provide a professional, senior management contribution across the Division, working in partnership with key stakeholders to deliver cost-efficient, high quality and responsive services;
Delivery of the directorates required operational requirements, including key performance indicators and relevant national and local standard of performance;
Business planning, including annual plans and business cases;
Financial planning;
To ensure effective management systems are in place to support the Division achieve all National and Trust standards;
To ensure the establishment and maintenance of good relationships and two way communication throughout the Division;
Ensure that complaints are dealt with appropriately and action is taken to prevent recurrence.
The ideal candidate will have:
Degree educated or equivalent experience Management qualification;
Extensive General Manager or equivalent management experience within Surgery for an Acute NHS hospital at Band 8c or above;
Project management experience delivering complex change across a range of departments.
