Interim General Manager - ENT, Vascular Surgery, Urology, Max Fa

We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint Interim General Manager - ENT, Vascular Surgery, Urology, Max Fax. This role will be for 3 months initially, though could extend and is expected to be based onsite.

This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated at c£310 .

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the standardisation of services across all relevant sites to the best possible level, so that all of our patients experience equally high quality care;

  • Lead on the planning, development and delivery of multi-site services to ensure that there is a common understanding of capacity and demand with clear operational plans to deliver the best in care in the most appropriate settings;

  • Ensure that digital technologies underpin the way services are delivered at present and in the future and to drive all aspects of innovation and service improvement, across all settings;

  • Leading the development of a sustainable workforce that is fit for the future within their area of responsibility;

  • Working with system partners to put in place clinical pathways that care for patients in the most appropriate settings, and reducing inappropriate or avoidable demand for acute services;

  • Lead on the development of challenging service improvement strategies for each department and service within the assigned speciality that allow for the delivery of Divisional Service and Financial Plans directed by the Divisional Management Team;

  • In conjunction with the Director of Operations ensure that all income required to support delivery of the service is identified and that budgets are realistic and achievable;

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure delivery plans are compatible and to maximise opportunities for more efficient ways of working.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Educated to degree level or have demonstratable experience working in a similar position within an Acute NHS provider setting;

  • Knowledge and experience of leading significant change to patient services, delivering tangible

  • and sustained improvements;

  • Experience of developing and maintaining active partnerships with stakeholders in the

  • development of services.
