Interim General Manager - Acute and ED

We are working with an Acute NHS Trust in the South East region of the UK as they seek to appoint an Interim Service Manager for Acute and ED

The Trust are looking for someone to start ASAP and the role will be for 6 months in the first instance with an expectation it could extend, it is also a role that has been identified as needing someone fully on site.

This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated under the NHSE/I Agency Caps rate for Band 8b/8c dependent upon experience – up to £371.55 pd.

Key responsibilities will include:

Overall operational management of all of the specified services;

Develop and implement performance management systems;

Monitor the clinical and financial performance across these services, present options for improvement and take corrective action where necessary;

Efficient and effective use of resources to ensure highest standards of patient care and excellent service delivery;

Ensure patient flow pathways and processes are designed to meet operational best practice;

Take lead responsibility for specified operational tasks and projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

Postgraduate degree or equivalent level of experience;

A credible track record of NHS management within the NHS at Band 8b level;

Substantial experience of managing within ED and/or Acute services is essential;

Credible expertise of performance management across waiting times targets;

Experience of implementing service improvement.
