We are working with a high profile NHS organization who are looking for a proven and credible Deputy Company Secretary for an interim period.
The assignment will be on a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months at Band 8b and will start ASAP subject to clearances and compliance.
The organization is based in the South East and will need someone on site for up to 3 days a week.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead the effective management and delivery of a full secretariat service in support of the Chairman, Trust Board, the Board level committees and other regulatory / oversight meetings as required;
Lead on the development of a programme of meetings, co-ordination of meetings, publication of agendas, production of minutes, and ensure actions are circulated;
Responsible for maintaining the highest levels of corporate governance, acting as the first point of contact for corporate governance arrangements;
Provide highly specialist governance advice to, and in support of, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Board Committees and relevant Executive Groups;
Provide a highly effective and supportive role to the Company Secretary, with a view to continued improvement around corporate governance functions in compliance with statutory and mandatory requirements;
Undertake project-based work under the direction of the Company Secretary in developing long-term strategic plans over the next 12-18 months;
Deputise for the Company Secretary to ensure compliance with all corporate statutory and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will have/be:
Significant experience of undertaking a similar role, operating, and working within a large and complex organisation;
Credible and proven track record of undertaking a similar role in the NHS;
High level of proven ability working with a Board of Directors, governors or within similar governance structure;
Experience of producing a wide range of written information, including formal reports, minutes, briefings, etc.
