Head of Workforce Transformation

Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint a Head of Workforce Transformation.

The postholder will be responsible for the coordination of the organisation’s strategic workforce planning and transformation programme.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the coordination of the organisation’s strategic workforce planning and transformation programme;
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of a Clinical Workforce Strategy across nursing, medical and AHP roles;
  • Assuming responsibility for the delivery of projects within the workforce transformation programme, either through self delivery or delivery through others;
  • Undertaking relevant skill mix reviews in conjunction with professional leads to inform transformation priorities, taking appropriate resulting actions;
  • Supporting, informing and representing the organisation at relevant local, regional and national workforce planning and transformation boards;
  • Ensuring the workforce plan supports and meets the needs of the diverse range of partners, adheres to national statutory requirements, and correlates to relevant strategic, service and financial plans;
  • Guiding and facilitating health and care leaders through a complex system of workforce planning strategy, policy, delivery and governance;
  • Providing in-depth analysis of workforce information, using research to identify trends and benchmarking data both internally and externally.
  • The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant experience of delivering workforce transformation within an NHS setting;
  • Proven expertise in workforce design, change management, and programme management;
  • Strong negotiation, communication and influencing skills.
