Head of Inclusion, Involvement and Engagement

Job Description

Finegreen are working with an NHS organisation in the East of the UK who are looking to appoint a Head of Inclusion, Involvement and Engagement. This role will be for an initial 12-month period.

The post holder will be required to work on-site for 2-3 days a week, with the remainder remotely, on an hourly rate of £49.59, working Inside IR35 (through an Umbrella solution company).

The post holder will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and continuous development of programs of work for service user and carer involvement, carers, service feedback, Inclusion and Equality and Human Rights and Experience and Complaints, to help the Trust in achieving its strategy of Good to Great.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Refine, develop, and implement the organisation’s approach to Involvement, Inclusion, and Engagement to achieve the organisation’s Strategy;

  • Develop Involvement, Inclusion and Engagement activities to enable the organisation to be seen as a centre for excellence in the field;

  • Be responsible for the line management of all members of the Involvement, Inclusion, and Engagement teams including recruitment, appraisal, supervision, performance management and disciplinary arrangements, reporting into the Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality;

  • Oversight of main budget cost centres ensuring responsible and proportionate spending;

  • Analyse, interpret and compare options relating to highly complex facts or situations;

  • Respond to urgent and unpredictable requests which may lead to the reprioritisation/adjustment of the plan of work to enable appropriate resources;

  • Deliver a programme of work in line with the Involvement, Inclusion, and Engagement work plans and associated strategies;

  • Take a lead role in the contribution to and dissemination of data;

  • Provide leadership to a diverse team of professionals through nurturing ideas, setting measurable objectives, and reporting on impact;

  • Lead the Involvement, Inclusion and Engagement input into the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategy and business plans, policies, and decision-making to improve efficiency and effectiveness and to embed core principles of Inclusion and engagement in relation to the portfolios mentioned above;

  • Ensure adequate budgetary provision for Involvement, Inclusion and Engagement projects are made and liaise with other Directorates regarding funding arrangements for development activity.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working within the NHS/ a healthcare setting;

  • Experience working at a senior level within the NHS;

  • Knowledge of national policies & standards is key for this role;

  • Understand, disseminate, and present complex information, using both verbal and written disciplines.

  • Confident in presenting complex information in both written or oral formats to large groups, executive and/or senior teams;

  • Leading teams and setting deliverable objectives;

  • Ability to identify, collate and analyse complex and written statistical and numerical data.
