Head of Corporate Governance / Trust Secretary

Job Description

Finegreen are currently working with an NHS organisation, based in London to appoint a Head of Corporate Governance/ Trust Secretary.

The post will be working on an interim basis for 3 – 6 months with an hourly rate of £44.87, working inside IR35 (through an umbrella solution company). Our client may require some on-site working for 1-2 days per week although the rest can be conducted remotely.

The post holder will be working with a small, close net team in a busy but welcoming environment, providing professional advice and guidance on Corporate Governance to Senior Leads, Boards and Committees.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the development, implementation and review of relevant Codes of Conduct, policies, and procedures;

  • Make informed decisions around the structure of the organisation and its committees;

  • Organisation of agendas /minute management, leading teams to provide excellent administrative duties;

  • Proactively support continued development for Boards and Committees, ensuring appropriate governance arrangements are in place;

  • Ensure key corporate governance documents, incorporating the Board and Council of Governors Standing Orders, the scheme of delegation and reservation of powers, and the standing financial instructions are in place;

  • Ensure that Board and Committee business is properly planned and effectively co-ordinated through the production of Annual Plans of Board and Committee business.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Must have experience working within the NHS/a healthcare setting;

  • Thorough understanding of the statutory and regulatory framework for the NHS;

  • Significant expertise developing governance and assurance arrangements at an organisational level;

  • Experience of operating within a complex environment;

  • Management of teams, working at a senior level;

  • Able to identify and manage critical issues and priorities;

  • Excellent report writing, minute taking and administrative skills.
