Finegreen are assisting a large NHS organisation for a Head of Corporate Governance. The post will be based in London for an interim period of 5 months initially.
The post holder will ensure the organisation has in place effective structures, systems and processes of corporate governance.
Key responsibilities will include:
Act as Secretary to the Board of Directors, and at least one Committee of the board, providing high quality support to the Board in the management of its meetings;Oversee the secretariat support to the other Committees of the Board, including the organisation management group, ensuring the support is of high quality;Establish, maintain, and monitor policies and procedures for sound corporate governance across the organisation, including Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions;Ensure the organisation complies with relevant legislation and best practice in corporate governance and prepare assurance reports in relation to this for Board Committees as required;Oversee the maintenance and monitoring of the organisation’s Register of Interests, Hospitality and Gifts, ensuring the organisation has in place robust systems and processes for complying with relevant national guidance;Act as a budget holder for the Corporate Governance team;Oversee the recording of expenses, producing regular reports, and ensuring timely publication on the organisation’s website;Manage, support, and develop members of the corporate governance team, undertaking all aspects of HR management, including setting of annual objectives, and holding mid- and end-year reviews for direct reports;Manage any aspects of performance of team members as required;Have responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of self and others and to always comply with the requirement of the Health and Safety Regulations.The ideal candidate will have:
