Finance Management Accountant

Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint a Finance Management Accountant, for 3 months in the first instance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the provision of a complete, professional financial service to a range of Directorates, providing timely and accurate financial support and advice through the provision of robust monitoring information;

  • Supporting the Finance Manager in delivering a customer focussed service to the Budget;

  • Holders of the highest possible standard and maintaining adherence to the monthly reporting timetable, preparing monthly financial performance reports and forecasts, analysing trends and variances;

  • Ensuring the directorates manage their financial position and the organisation fulfils its financial duties;

  • Delivering complex financial information on a regular basis and will often have to manage difficult situations with budget holders where they need to change expectations about what is deliverable;

  • Liaising with and managing output from Financial Services on a daily basis;

  • Liaising with auditors, suppliers, other healthcare organisations on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • AAT Diploma Level 4 or equivalent (e.g. NVQ 4, Ordinary degree);

  • Experience of working in a finance environment with detailed knowledge of reconciliations, double entry booking keeping, financial systems including budgeting processes etc;

  • Experienced in the use of financial systems/spreadsheets/databases/word processing.
