Finance Director

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interim Finance Director to join a NHS Trust in the East of England. The Finance Director will provide expert financial advice at Board level, as the principal financial advisor to the Trust Board, CEO and Executive Directors.

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the management, development and control of the financial resources of the Trust, ensuring all statutory targets and duties are achieved;

  • Professional leadership of the finance, procurement, contracting and business planning of the Trust, ensuring the function is modern, integrated and supporting clinical services through a strong business partnering function;

  • Play a leading role in ensuring the development project remains financially viable and delivers the strategic change programme;

  • Corporate responsibility for the management and development of the Trust, influencing strategy and delivering key objectives and targets;

  • Executive Lead for the design and delivery of annual cost improvement programmes;

  • Responsible for overall programme management and control of major capital Projects.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Qualified accountant;

  • Experience at Director and Board level, in the health sector / NHS;

  • Developed and delivered comprehensive financial strategies and plans;

  • Negotiated and influenced on a range of complex financial issues.
