Estates Sustainability Manager

Job Description

Finegreen are assisting an NHS organisation in South Central of the UK who are looking to appoint an Estates Sustainability Manager.

This role will work on an interim basis for 3-6 months with an hourly rate between £29.53 per hour - £34.65 per hour, working inside IR35 (through an umbrella solution company).

The post holder will lead on providing professional, managerial, and technical leadership for organisational sustainable/environmental management activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead on energy and water efficiency, waste management compliance, transportation, and sustainable construction;
  • Provide specialist knowledge and experience of energy management and utilities procurement;
  • Co-ordinate and deliver the development, implementation, review, and expansion of the Green Plans for the organisation;
  • Co-ordinate the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and practices to cut costs, reduce carbon emissions and other environmental impacts;
  • Advise on risks associated with emerging environmental and sustainability legislation and recommend and implement solutions;
  • Identify and co-ordinate the implementation of initiatives and measures to reduce carbon emissions;
  • Work with various departments to ensure the sound energy and environmental performance of existing buildings, new building design, refurbishment of existing buildings and capital schemes;
  • Be aware of the organisation’s Health and Safety / Risk Policies, Site Fire Plans, location, and operation of fire equipment, COSHH, Quality Assurance Standards and any other relevant policies and procedures.
  • The ideal candidate will have:

  • Senior level experience and extensive knowledge within Environmental / Sustainability requirements;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the NHS/ a healthcare sector;
  • Experience in an Estates / Facilities department within a large organisation;
  • Excellent analysis and detail to attention, able to write reports and share findings with senior management level.
