Employee Relations Advisor

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Employee Relations Advisor, for up to 3 months in the first instance. The postholder will provide a professional support service to managers on a range of general operational issues.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a HR Advisor within the NHS. The role will require a hybrid working approach.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as first point of contact for HR advice across the full range of employee relations issues including grievance, discipline, capability, sickness absence, redeployment, in line with best practice, organisational policy and employment legislation;
  • Ensuring that advice and assistance to managers on staff-related operational issues is timely and accurate;
  • Managing a caseload of employee relations issues;
  • Supporting the wider ER team, by working on a rota basis to manage the generic inbox and manning the generic phone line;
  • Arranging formal meetings and investigations with multiple stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate will have:

  • A CIPD qualification;
  • Previous experience as a HR Advisor within the NHS;
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. employment law, data protection;
  • An ability to understand the HR issues arising from operational management issues and advise managers appropriately and persuasively on the action they should take;
  • Strong IT skills, with competency in Microsoft packages.
