E-learning Specialist

Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an E-learning Specialist to support on the project management and implementation of E-Learning packages for the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading on the project management, validation, development, implementation and utilisation of e-learning packages and other resources;

  • Providing technical advice for eLearning across the organisation;

  • Ensuring that learning interventions have a positive impact on service delivery and patient care, and that the trust maintains compliance with statutory, mandatory and regulatory requirements;

  • Providing expertise in identifying future learning technology needs and contributing to the development and subsequent implementation of strategies and plans for meeting these needs;

  • Validating proposals, analysing and developing specification, determining feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities required for new or revised packages;

  • Designing and adapting digital learning resources in collaboration with educators and education managers, and managing their deployment, maintenance and evaluation;

  • Utilising a range of web authoring and development software, video equipment and multimedia tools to produce these resources, including HTML 5, Articulate and Adobe software;

  • Developing and maintaining a network of contacts with approved commercial providers, identifying content requirements and industry trends, testing and evaluating commercially available content;

  • Working with SME’s to transform content into eLearning, managing projects and relationships end to end;

  • Maintaining the existing eLearning provision, updating modules as and when required;

  • Working with Digital Media to create assets and video;

  • Developing and publishing new eLearning packages with assistance of SME’s and other stakeholders;

  • Supporting users with e-learning queries, investigating and resolving issues and providing training and advice where required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of the project management, validation, development, implementation and utilisation of e-learning within an NHS organisation;

  • A proven track record of leading training and workforce programmes;

  • An IT qualification would be desirable;

  • An ability to explain faults and solutions to both technical and non-technical clients.
