Interim Project Manager - Elective Care Programme

Job Description

We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Change Manager – Improving Elective Care Programme. This role will be for 6 months initially and is expected to be on a Fixed Term Contract basis at Band 8a level. There is scope for remote working for 1 day a week, with the rest of the week based in the London region supporting across various sites as directed (travel costs will be covered).

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the implementation of an organisation wide solution to support the Improving Elective Care Programme;

  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team and project delivery team to ensure that the programme and project work streams are in line with the Trust’s vision and strategic objectives;

  • Work with the Improving Elective Care Programme leads and develop the knowledge and skills to analyse existing work processes. Designing alternative and effective ways of working with key stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes;

  • Take the lead on transition management, ensuring that ‘business as usual’ is maintained during the transition to new systems, and that any changes are effectively integrated into the procedures within clinical areas;

  • Liaise with project managers and other transformation leads to map current information flows within each clinical area. Draw up new process maps as part of the preparation of clinical areas for the transition to new ways of working. Document and manage the implementation of new information flows, system processes and business practices;

  • Responsible for the implementation of the change management plan for the Improving Elective Care Programme across the organisation, ensuring the successful delivery of the programme in the timescales set.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Project and Programme Management within an NHS setting at Band 8a minimum;

  • Demonstrable track record of driving change within the NHS;

  • Expert knowledge of change and benefits management methodologies and techniques;

  • The ability to write detailed documentation to Prince 2 standards.
