Finegreen have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director of Midwifery at a large NHS organisation based in London. The post will be interim for 3 months at a competitive rate based on your experience.
The organisation is looking for someone to be a key member of the site Nursing Board, working with the Divisional Director and Director of Nursing to develop and implement the organisation wife objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Responsible for risk management, ensuring professional standards, leadership, appropriate planning implementations, monitoring and review mechanisms that are in place which develop high quality patient driven services within the available resources;Responsible for the nursing/midwifery service across several service lines;Take a lead corporate midwifery role within the site for a specific strategic work stream;Ensure that the national maternity ten-year plan is embedded in the service;Local and national projects linked with National, Regional and STP initiatives to promote and develop midwifery in the organisation;Work in partnership with the East London Local Maternity System to deliver on the ‘Better Births’ Transformation plans;Ensure multidisciplinary enrolment in cross service improvement, by negotiating shared solutions, facilitating the resolution of complex or contentious issues, and managing conflict into constructive outcomes;Ensure the divisions improvements are evidence based, by actively identifying research evidence and best practice elsewhere, interpreting / translating it for organisation wide audiences and facilitating its adaption; Directly line manage the senior nurses / midwives, consultant nurses /Midwives and Matrons;Ensure the development and divisional teams’ acceptance of challenging but realistic objectives, and through leadership, motivation and performance management achieve the required result;Using highly developed leadership skills leading an environment in which members of staff deliver high quality services can innovate and raise any concerns openly and safely;Facilitate effective group meetings of senior managerial and clinical staff to support and meet the needs of the respective division’s clinical services;Ensure a process of ward and team meetings exist to promote communication, local management, and the resolution of issues;Lead on driving improved patient experience by leading on the divisions FFT / patient feedback strategy;Maintain the divisional mandatory training compliance targets. The ideal candidate will have:
First Level Registered Midwife;Educated to Masters / doctorate level in a relevant healthcare subject;Significant experience of working as a Head of Midwifery or Deputy Head of Midwifery;Evidence of managerial responsibilities & operational healthcare experience in an acute setting;Awareness of developments in the NHS and service delivery and its impact on current services;Ability to analyse complex problems and workable solutions to address them;Have confidence working across several subject areas- clinical.If you are interested in the role, please contact Elecia Heywood on 0161 416 6078 and send a copy of your updated CV to elecia.heywood@finegreen.co.uk along with your availability and rate.
