Area Directors (Urgent, Emergency and Planned Care)

The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) is a high performing and dynamic organisation, where we continually seek to improve and innovate to provide the very best possible care to patients within the communities we serve. We are developing and changing our service delivery model to focus on integrated care, enabling us to provide people with the support they need, joined up across other partner organisations.

As a result, we are now looking for two Area Directors to lead in our Trust as we transform our service model to centre around integrated care. These are truly rewarding roles where you and your teams’ contributions will drive change and contribute to the organisation’s emerging strategy as we begin to operate across ICSs with our NHS partners.

These posts will extend across all three service lines; urgent, emergency and planned care and will be recruited to at ICS level (Cheshire and Merseyside and Greater Manchester). This is an exciting opportunity to lead area-based teams who will represent the Trust in a way that ensures organisational strategy and priorities are realised. Each post requires a capable leader to represent the Trust, its vision, and its values across the ICS system.

Working to the Trust Strategy and with the direction of the Board, you will have the opportunity to lead, positively influence, negotiate and progress the interests of the Trust and to innovative where appropriate. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own leadership skills through our leadership philosophy ‘Be Think Do’ which is how we have embedded our positive leadership values and culture into the Trust.

We are seeking compassionate leaders who can demonstrate inclusivity and will inspire and influence others to achieve better outcomes for our patients. You will work strategically and build relationships both internally and externally to enable successful delivery of operational, financial and performance activity within your area.

These will be complex and challenging roles, within an organisation that serves over 7 million people across 5,400 square miles. We recognise that the key to our success is down to the contribution made by our 6,300+ staff, our volunteers and our partners.
