Welcome

Welcome

Thank you for the interest you have shown in our Chief Executive Officer post at NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB). One Gloucestershire is a well-established partnership of health and care organisations based around trusted and collaborative relationships that are working hard to deliver joined up services for the people of Gloucestershire.

There has never been a more exciting and challenging time to join us as we continue our journey as an ICB. The recent Darzi report describes an NHS in a ‘critical condition’, amid surging waiting lists and a deterioration in the nation’s health. As we now look to the future, ICBs will have a pivotal role to play in leading the response to addressing the significant and longstanding challenges that have been outlined.

As an ICB we believe in the power of our partnership to improve health and wellbeing, improve care and services for local citizens and to collectively tackle unacceptable health inequalities. We will continue to work with our local health and care professionals, supported by our fantastic partners, including local councils and other public, community and voluntary sector colleagues that have responded magnificently.

It is to this backdrop that we embark on the process to appoint our Chief Executive Officer. This is a pivotal role in supporting our ambitions, by leading the development and delivery of our long-term ICB plan. You will do this by working with our colleagues across the system to ensure this reflects and integrates the strategies of all relevant partner organisations within the ICS and the needs of our population.

Alongside other system leaders, you will provide inspirational and compassionate leadership. You will drive improvement in the quality of our services for the benefit of our population, with a key focus on inequalities, population health and outcomes. As part of the ICB leadership team, you will lead and influence complex transformation and improvement, through collaboration and mature partnership working.

As a suitable candidate you will be an experienced and effective board member, have strong strategic leadership skills and a track record of leading transformational change within a politically charged environment. You will have exceptional personal integrity, be community focused, with a strong social purpose. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to championing diversity, inclusion, and equality of opportunity for all.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank our outgoing CEO Mary Hutton. Mary has made a fantastic contribution during her time as CEO and has played an important role in helping to establish a strong tradition of partnership working, cooperation and making the most of the Gloucestershire pound.

If you share our ambitions and vision and would like to help lead us on our continued journey, then we look forward to receiving your application and meeting with you in due course.
