In 2006 NHS Brent were in deficit by £26 million which prompted newly appointed Chief Executive , Mark Easton to instigate one of the largest NHS turnaround programmes in the UK . As part of this process, several resource gaps were identified and it was decided that there was a requirement to recruit highly experienced individuals on an interim basis.
Finegreen Associates were one of the key partners in helping the organisation to identify and appoint several Interim Managers. NHS Hounslow has traditionally struggled to recruit and retain high calibre Executives. In order to support their financial turnaround and change management agenda they sought to appoint a high calibre Director of Finance. Following a competitive tendering process Finegreen Associates and our Executive Director Neil Fineberg, supported by ex NHS Chief Exec John De baux were retained to source suitably experienced individuals.
Various pro-active methods were used to maximise visibility and guarantee the highest number of quality applications.These included various on-line and printed media, our own active & passive database as well as some selective head-hunting to tease out indivduals who were not currently seeking a new role but could be persuaded to consider an exciting challenge.
a) We received 855 + views of the vacancy on-line - 5 times the usual average.
b) We received and scored (against the person/job description) 45 completed application forms - 3 times the usual average
c) A long list of 10 people was presented to the client which resulted in 5 people being invited to attend a full day Assessment Centre.
Following a short offer management process a successful appointment was made.
